He was a barber for 59 years in Greenville and Ansonia areas, He valued his customers and the many friends who blessed his life. Bill was a lifelong farmer, graduate of Jackson School with the class of '58 and a member of the Community United Methodist Church. Bill and Vera were part of the couples card club that listed over 50 years. He enjoyed grilling, family gatherings, community pig roasts at Bateman's woods on Wed. night council meeting at Bateman's Garage. The annual deer hunting trips, fishing in Canada, attending sporting events, harness racing and casino trips.
Survived by wife of 59 years, Vera Jean (Gussin) Abel, daughters Sandra (Ron) Huntwork , Jeanelle (Daren) Hiatt; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Kerry (Mona Belle) Abel and an aunt Mary Gullespie; 2 step-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
