Charlotte V. (Peabody) Casey, 92, of Beverly, passed away early Friday morning at the Cedar Glen Care & Rehab Center in Danvers.
She was the wife of Thomas J. Casey, Jr. of Beverly, having shared 70 years of marriage together. Charlotte was born in Ipswich on July 12, 1919, daughter of the late E. Vernon and Beatrice (Bailey) Peabody. Charlotte graduated from Newburyport high School and from the Beverly Hospital School of Nursing . She had a long career in the nursing field. She was a member of the Beverly Hospital Alumni Association. Among her many interests were, knitting, sewing, birding, shelling, camping and square dancing.
In addition to her husband, Thomas, she is survived by her children, daughter, Barbara R. and her husband Russell Lacerda of Danvers; sons, Richard T. and his wife Deborah Casey of Kittery, ME; Joseph E. and his wife Deborah Casey of Newburyport; William J. and his wife Pamela Casey of Ipswich and Steven J. and his wife Deborah Casey of Acton, ME . She also leaves 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Robert Peabody, Edward "Ned" Peabody and Barbara "Bunt" Leavitt.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church, Main Street, Rowley on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011. Burial will be in the Main Street Cemetery, Rowley. A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 4 to 7 PM in the F.S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley.
