DEATH OF DR. ZILLMAN
An Interesting Career
A man of remarkable personality, John Herman Leopold Zillman, has just died in Sydney.
Born at Caboolture, Queensland, in 1841 of Polish parents, he was educated by Bishop Barker at Moore College, and ordained at St. Andrew's Cathedral, Sydney, Since his ordination to the priesthood, he has had charge of many parishes— in Ipswich, Queensland, Hamilton, Victoria, and other places. He was chaplain of Tomba Prison, New York, and held several big appointments in the United States. He was also rector of St Leonard's England.
He was a much travelled man, an earnest thinker, a well-equipped writer and lecturer, And his sympathies were wide and deep. His remains will be interred to-morrow at Rookwood.
Dr. Cassidy, of Paddington, did all in his power to attend to his comfort and prolong his life.
