Born in Rexburg, Idaho, to Hans Walter Jensen and Ada Geneva Hegstead, she grew up on a farm in Idmon-Kilgore and attended schools in Idmon and Spencer. In the Logan, Utah LDS Temple November 17, 1944, she married Ralph L. Hillman. They resided in Plano and Kilgore, where they were engaged in farming and ranching. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served a mission to the Family History Center in Idaho Falls in 1996.
Her daughter, Sherry (Lyle) Powell and sons: Randy Hillman, Nicky (Jackie) Hillman, Ronny (Annette) Hillman; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and sisters-in laws: Lula Hallstrom, Maxine (Karl) Barber and Denice (Boyde) Hughs survive. Her husband, parents, and a daughter-in-law, Georgia LaMae Hillman; sister, Lucille (Clarence) Henniger; brothers: Mark (Billy) Jensen, Keith (Florence) Jensen, and Hugh (Bardee) Jensen predeceased Barbara.
