WILLISTON - Services for David Walter Allen , 76, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2003, at Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with burial in Williston Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Folk Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 1077 Hwy. 39, Williston, SC 29853.

Mr. Allen died Sunday, August 17, 2003. Born in Shelby, N.C., he was a son of the late David Hoyle Allen and Hattie Norman Allen . He was a member and deacon of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit #75 and was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II on the USS Farquhar. He retired from DuPont at S.R.P. where he worked in traffic and transportation.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Whitesell Allen of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda (Marty) Schumpert of Elko, Karen (Ronnie) Rogers of Montmorenci, Debra ( David ) Deering of Williston; son and daughter-in-law, Frankie (Brenda) Allen of Williston; sisters, Doris McCulloch of Greenville, Joyce Wilson of Blacksburg; brother, Larry Hoyle Allen of Blacksburg; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
