Louis Clayton Wright, Jr, was born on November 12, 1942 to Clayton and Dorothy Wright. He was a graduate of Stivers High School in Dayton in 1963. He was known to many as Buddy. He joined the United States Air Force in 1963 and served on active duty until 1970 where he transitioned into the Air National Guard for another 17 years. He retired as a firefighter on Wright Patterson Air Force Base in 1997.

Louis was a lifelong scout and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout in 1957. He was proud that his son, Louis and his grandson, Cody followed in his footsteps by becoming Eagle Scouts. While in the military, he was stationed in Germany where he became a 32nd degree Mason and continued his service with the Masons and Eastern Star until his death.

At the time of his death, he was under the care of Hospice of Dayton.

Although Louis had many accomplishments in his life, his greatest achievement was when he married his wife, Jeannette, on September 26, 1978 and the births of his 3 sons, Louis, Andres and Howard. Louis is survived by his wife, Jeannette of Vandalia; son, Louis (Donna) of Dayton, son, Howard of Houston, Texas, and his step-daughters, Stella (Adrian) Sellers of Dayton and Joyce (Marv) Chupp of Fredericksburg, OH. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cody and AJ Wright, Raymond and Kayla Johnson, all of Dayton, Brandon Slifer of Tipp City, Brandon, Cheyenne, and Diana Chupp, all of Fredericksburg, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends who will all miss him.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Dorothy Wright, sister, Dorothy Jean Wright, son, Andrew Wright, and daughter-in-law, Cari Wright.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, May 3 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia with Mr. Charlie Wiltrout officiating.
