Mr. Robert Harrell Couey, 87, passed away on April 10, 2018 in Perry, FL. Harrell was born January 3, 1931 in Laurens County GA. to Robert Bishop Couey and Florrie Mae Holder Couey.
Harrell honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was considered a hard worker who loved to work in his yard. He was a home-body and enjoyed working around his house and spending time with all of his grandchildren.
Harrell was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Florrie Mae Couey, brothers Buddy, Billy, and Jimmy Couey; three sisters Christine Methins, Linda Thurman, and Loretta Whitehead, and one grandson Brian Holmes.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Mrs. Jeanette Couey; children Debbie Hoover, Bobby (Pam) Couey, Ashley Couey, Edna Mae Couey, Anne Holmes, Gary Holmes(Susan), and Greg Holmes; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, two sisters Rosalind Clark and Lynette Adams as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Pastor Wallace Holmes officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
