Bonnie lived most of her life in Rockford, coming from Dixon. She married Roosevelt McBride, and he preceded her in death.
Bonnie was employed as a cook by the Rockford Public School District 205 at Auburn High School and Lewis Lemon. She attended East High School, later to receive her GED at Rock Valley College.
Bonnie leaves to cherish many loving memories: daughters, Gloria Jean Zills and Teres Lynn (J.T.) Horton–Bemley; sons, Charles Nathaniel Gholson and Greg Phillips; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, John Roger Freeberg; and sister, Glorious (David) Johnson.
She was predeceased by: parents; husband; and brothers, Charles and Tommy Freeberg.
Services Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery.
