She was born on July 6, 1930, the daughter of Erich and Emma (nee Weihert) Hensler in Dodge County. She was the youngest of 10 children – 6 brothers and 3 sisters. She married Elmer J Frey on April 7, 1951. Arlene was very proud of her eight children and her close family. She enjoyed watching all her children and grandchildren participate in their sporting events. She was named Johnson Creek’s #1 Fan and was often heard cheering them on! Arlene embraced the holidays especially Christmas when they would all be together to celebrate the birth of Christ. Arlene was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church for 50 years.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Elmer; children, Terry (Debbie), Jim (Cheryl), Dick, Rhonda (Gordon) Butzine, Randy (Tammy), Jeff (Julie), Tim (Jackie) and Chad (Cheryl) as well as 13 grandchildren , Jason (Meagan), Carri (Sean) Nimm, Erich, Nicki (Nick) Caminata, Kim (Reggie) Trimborn, Jake, Nathan, Jeremiah (Jamie), Jordan (Ashley), Tyler, Ashley, Brady and Logan. Arlene was blessed with nine great-grandchildren.
She was the last member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church on Hwy B, Johnson Creek from 9:00-11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Burk officiating. Burial will take place at the Parish Cemetery with a lunch to follow. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to the church. The family would like to thank Lilac Springs and Rainbow Hospice for their support.
