Miss Cleo Routien Is Wed in Baptist Church

Otis J. Thompson, Jr., and Bride Receive Friends at Routien Home Saturday

In a pretty wedding at the First Baptist church at 3:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Miss Cleo Eugenia Routien became the bride of Otis John Thompson, Jr. The Rev. J. M. Horton officiated at the service, while organ music by Miss Dorothy Horton and a solo of "I Love You Truly," by Miss Lorraine Schneider, added color to the ceremony.

The bride, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Routien of 1145 Summer street, wore a fashionable ankle length royal blue chiffon velvet gown for her wedding day. Her blue velvet turban and nose veil matched her dress, as did her satin sandals. For contrast, she carried a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums.

Miss Dorothy Auiler, the maid of honor, appeared in a black taffeta brock, trimmed in royal blue, with silver flowers at the neckline. With this she wore a black velvet turban, trimmed with a nose veil, and carried a bouquet of white pompoms.

Paul Bruner of Lafayette, Indiana, [ser]ved the bridegroom as best man. After the wedding reception at the home of the bride's parents, the newlyweds left for a trip through southern Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. They will return to make their home at 1043 Lyons street.

Mr. Thompson, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Thompson of Elkhart, Indiana, was graduated from the Elkhart high school before he received a degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue university. He is now an engineer at the Shell Petroleum corporation.

The bride, a graduate of the Hammond technical high school, was formerly employed at Grants.
