Mary Ann (Street) Dennison, a child of Jonas Lewis Street (1764-1837) and Rebecca (Garrett) Street, was born in Loudon, Va., January, 1790, where she lived until she was 16 years of age. The family then removed to the hamlet of Flintstone, in Allegany County, Md., where Jonas operated a well-known inn. Mary Ann married Jonathan Dannison, Jr. on 18 January 1824 and they remained at Murley's Branch during their married life. After the death of her husband (c. 1735) she removed to Cumberland in which city she lived a number of years. She then abandoned housekeeping, living alternately among her children for a number of years. Finally she made her home with two of her daughters at Eckhart, where she lived up to the time of her death.

John and Mary Ann had five children: Rebecca (Dennison) Gregory, Rose (Dennison) Robinett Pembroke, Emma (Dennison) Bateson, Samuel Lewis Dennison, and Frances Ann (Dennison) Rohrer.

Her husband John died c.1735 at Murley's Branch, near Flintstone. His place of burial is not known.
