Born in Maple Rapids, MI on December 2, 1935, he was a son of the late John M. & Agnes M. (Huntley) Houseman. He was raised downstate and was honorably discharged as a PFC from the U.S. Army. Russell was an assemblyman in an auto manufacturing plant until his retirement and he relocated to the Curtis area. While in Curtis he did odd jobs for neighbors. Besides his parents Russell is preceded in death by his older brother David.
Russell is survived by his son Scott of Grand Ledge, and his Sisters Patricia Johnson, Perry, Michigan, Bev Swagman and his brother John (Mary) Houseman, all of Curtis.
According to his wishes, Cremation services have already been accorded. Spring inurnment will occur in Woodlawn Cemetery in Curtis.
