Abba Elizabeth Overturf, 95, the daughter of Nels Peter and Anne Marie (Hansen) Frandson, was born July 15, 1912, in Clay County, Nebr. She died Thursday at Memorial Hospital, Aurora.

Abba attended Excelsior rural school. She married Marvin J Overturf on Mar 1, 1934 at Geneva. To this union three children were born, two daughters and one son. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hastings. Abba received the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award from Knights of Aksarben Foundation which recognizes farm ground owned by family for more than 100 years. As hobbies Abba enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting and doing handiwork.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1990; one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include her daughters, Elaine Overturf and Mrs Von Innes (Lois) all of Lincoln, Neb. and a son Kenneth Overturf of Edgar; grandchildren Andrew Innes, Muleshoe, Texas; Jeff Overturf, Edgar, Mrs Chris Torres (Caroline), Kansas City and Mrs Ben Cochran (Julie), Salinas, Calif., and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday at the Church of the Plains in Edgar. Pastor Sharon Ruzicka officiated. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings.

Williams Funeral Home of Edgar, was in charge of arrangements.
