She suffered from polio as a child and as a result of the treatment at the time, which in part consisted of having to turn the patient several times, one of her arms was partially paralyzed.
Jolene appears in the 1940, Amarillo, Potter County, Texas Census with her parents as well as two of her siblings.

She married Robert "Bob" H. Quick and the couple went on to have at least one son.
She passed away on December 9th of 2004 and had her body donated to medical science. Her final resting place is unknown.
04/18/2016 Update : Remains were not donated to medical science. She was cremated and her ashes are in the possession of her family.
She is with her husband at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
