His mother's death certificate states that her parents were from Ireland, and that she is buried in Cedar Creek, Tennessee. However, this was a typo and should state Cedar Creek, Alabama, rather than Tennessee.

Charles married Eva Carrie Thrasher on 15 Jun 1923, in Calhoun County, Alabama.
