Brady, James W. Jim the beloved Coach of many and lovingly known as Diamond by his South City family passed away on November 23, 2017, at the age of 67 after a brief battle with cancer. Jim will forever be remembered by his sons, granddaughter, mother and deceased father Thomas, also by his brothers and sisters. Jim will also be remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends, players, coaches and even umpires. Jim was a graduate of both Bishop DuBourg High School and Southwest Missouri State, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a teacher and a coach. He was inducted into the DuBourg and St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. Jim was entering his 33rd season as the UMSL head baseball coach, a program that he loved and dedicated his life toward improving.
Services: Memorial Mass, Saturday, December, 2, 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Church, 6303 Nottingham, St. Louis, MO 63109. Remembrance celebration immediately following at the UMSL Mark Twain Athletic Building. Private interment at Jefferson Barracks. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the 'Jim Brady Endowment Fund' c/o UMSL, 225 Mark Twain, St. Louis, MO 63121.
