Georgia A. Bodda, 87, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Wesley Willows, with her daughters by her side. She was born in Rockford on October 3, 1930, the daughter of George A. and Anna C. (Brown) Doty.
Georgia was a 1948 graduate of West High School. She was married to Ronald F. Bodda at Grace Methodist Church in Rockford on January 5, 1952, and they enjoyed 64 wonderful years together, always side-by-side, until Rons death in 2016.
She worked at Columbia Studios hand-coloring photographs and later worked for Bergners as a Shop-in-Home Decorator. Georgia was a gifted artist focusing on oil painting.
She also used her talent for numerous projects at Aldersgate UMC, where she was a faithful member, serving on various committees and as a Sunday School teacher.
Georgia enjoyed reading, cross stitch, her flower garden, and camping and traveling with Ron. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family.
She is survived by: daughters, Cynthia (Ian B.) Linnabary, Susan (Michael) Zielinski, and Barbara (Mark) Bressler; sister, Joanne (Lloyd) McNames; aunt, Lorraine Halvorsen; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Georgia is predeceased by: parents; and husband.
