Jayne MacDonald was the youngest murder victim of the Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe.
The beautiful 16 year old was attacked on Reginald Street in Leeds as she walked home from a Saturday night out.
As she was the first victim who was not a prostitute it became clear that no woman in Yorkshire was safe whilst the Ripper was at large.
After Jayne's murder, her father’s health deteriorated suddenly and he passed away just two years later, on 10th October 1979, dying of a broken heart.
Sutcliffe would murder another eight women, including two victims in Manchester, before his arrest in January 1981.
