Donald H. Hansing, 93, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. Don was born on September 17, 1924 in Rockford, the son of Henry F. and Clara (Knickrehm) Hansing.
Don graduated from East High School in 1943. He worked at Fran Kral Lincoln Mercury from 1948 to 1981. He was a charter member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and served the congregation in many capacities, including former president of the church council and elder.
Don married Lois Odelius on May 18, 1946 in Rockford. She predeceased him on May 23, 2005.
Survivors include: daughter, Jacqueline Baker; sons, David (Vicki), and Richard (Lisa) Hansing; grandchildren, Jessica, Meghan, Ryan, Hannah, and Cate; nine great-grandchildren; half-brothers, Andy (Vicki), Norm (Rosemary), Hank (Pat), and Chuck (Eileen) Hansing; half-sisters, Anita (Glenn) Robinson and Wanda (Rod) Rasmussen.
He was predeceased by: parents; wife; and brothers, Bill (Karen) and John (Carol) Hansing.
