Lucas E. Barnhart, aged 79, died at his home near Carmichaels, Saturday, February 20, 1937 at 8 pm from complication of ailments. A native of Greene County, he had spent his entire life in the county. He was a son of the late Jacob and Mary Harthart and was a lifelong member of Carmichaels Methodist Episcopal Church. His wife has been dead 29 years. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Francis Oliver of Carmichaels; and Mrs. H. C. Young of Rices Landing; and two sons, Upton Barnhart of Hoboken, N.J. and Oren Barnhart of Carmichaels. Funeral will be Monday at 2 pm at the home of his son, Oren. Rev. Lew F. Johnston, pastor of Carmichaels Methodist Episcopal Church, will officiate. Interment in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
