Charles "Bert" Carlson, 66, of Winnebago, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017. He was born May 13, 1951, in Rockford, the son of Bertil and Dorothy (Linn) Carlson.

Bert married his wife, Deborah Myers, on June 27, 1970 in Freeport, Illinois. He worked as an operator at Dean Foods & Bay Valley Foods for 41 years.

Bert also served in the Army Reserves and was an active Club Leader with the Winnebago County 4-H. He loved his Harley and riding with friends.

His greatest passion was his grandkids and making people smile and laugh. When you got that smirky smile, you knew it was gonna be a good one.

He is survived by: wife, Deb; children, Carl (Missy), Eric and Chris; grandchildren, Seth and Luke; adoptive daughter, Jen.

Bert is predeceased by: his parents; and brother, Donald.

Private family burial in Arlington Memorial Park.
