Mrs. Schlund was born on June 17, 1931, in Sheridan County, Kan., to Linus and Estella (Smith) Kreider. She moved with her family to the Doniphan area, where she grew up and was educated. Mrs. Schlund loved sewing, quilting and traveling. She helped the elderly so they could continue to live in their homes.
Survivors include one daughter, Shawn (Mrs. Rod) Clark of Alda; a grandson; four sisters, Marie Harding of Missouri, Eva Rose Williams of Texas, Doris Smith of Lincoln and Esther Smith of Kearney; and two brothers, Bob and Fred Kreider, both of Grand Island. She was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene.
