Mr. Conklin was a WWII US Navy Veteran. Mr. Conklin was employed as a Sales Representative District Manager for Gulf Oil and before his retirement, he was the superintendent of the Weights and Measures of Salem County. William was a lifetime member of the LAC Fire and Rescue, a former LAC Township Emergency Manager and Coordinator and a past president of the NJ Weights and Measures Association. He enjoyed golfing and watching the Phillies and Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lois Carll; his daughters, Sharon Coleman (William) of Elmer and Tracy Beal (Harry) of LAC; niece, Nancy Mitchell of LAC; his grandchildren, Grant (Kristen) Coleman, Timothy Coleman(Laurel Pfeffer), Jodie (Dan) Pasternak, Katie Coleman (Michael Allen), Hayley Beal and Kasey Beal; his great-grandchildren, Ben and Lily Pasternak, Avery and Emery Allen and Massey Coleman. Mr. Conklin was predeceased by his grandson, Ben Coleman; sister, Jane Henderson and nephew, Moe Henderson.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 7th in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd., Rt. 49, Quinton Twp. where friends may call after 9:30 AM. Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Twp.
