Harriett F. Broach, age 90, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2007, in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Home. Born December 17, 1917, in Rockford, the daughter of C. Otto and Josephine (Olson) Anderson.

Harriett graduated from Rockford Central High School, class of 1935. She married Rennie O. Broach, July 25, 1942. He passed away on July 7, 1970. While raising their family, Rennie and Harriett were foster parents for 14 babies, two of whom they adopted.

She loved to travel and music was always an important part of her life. Harriett worked 20 years at Bergner's, retiring in 1984. Member of Bethesda Covenant Church, where she sang with the sanctuary choir and classic chorale, and was a member of Rebecca Circle.

She is survived by: children, Michael (Beverly) Broach, Melodee (Mark) Risi, Mark (Jean) Broach, and Marcia Schneider; and grandchildren.

Funeral service on Friday, December 28, 2007, at Bethesda Covenant Church. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park.
