Vincent R. Bartelli, 68, of Belvidere, Illinois, passed away at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 5, 1941, in Rockford, the son of Vincent and Catherine Bartelli.
Vincent lived most of his life in Rockford before moving to Belvidere in 1979. He was the owner and operator of The Saloon in Belvidere for several years before retiring in 2002. He attended St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Vince was an accomplished musician, playing the saxophone and trumpet. He also had a tremendous voice. He loved camping and fishing but most of all his family.
Survivors include: children, Kimberly Bartelli, Amber Bartelli, and Richard (Dana) Bartelli; grandchildren, Maegan Latino (Jimmy), Ashley (Nick) DiGuiseppi and Ethyn Bartelli; five great-grandchildren; brother, John Bartelli; aunts, Angelina Patch, Marie Swanson and Carmella Armato; niece, Katie Camp; nephews, Michel Bartelli and Shawn McGuire; best friend, Percy Gordon; and other good friends.
Predeceased by his parents; and infant brother.
Funeral Mass on Monday, April 12, 2010, at St. Anthony Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
