Ruth Bohanan Chandler, 94, of Cedar Park, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2007.

She was born one of nine children to parents Osie and Ida Bohanan on April 26, 1912, in Williamson County. Ruth was the caretaker of her mother for many years. In the late 30s and early 50s, she worked at the Weir Telephone office. Later she and her mother moved into Georgetown. Ruth was a member of the Weir Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and loved singing. Ruth married Archie Chandler in July of 1973.

She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving and fun person. Ruth was also a wonderful cook and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters and two brothers.

The family received guests for a time of visitation on Monday, February 19, at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 20, at the New Hope Baptist Church in Cedar Park with Reverend Glenn Howard officiating. Graveside services followed at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Gary Bohanan, Jackie Hefner, Chick West, Ronnie Greaves, Lynn Howard and Ronnie Ischy. [Published 21 Feb 2007 in The Williamson County Sun, Georgetown, TX.]
