Mary was a 1968 graduate of Western Illinois University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Education. She was employed by Wayne Woodrum Chevrolet, Montgomery Ward in Macomb and for Sears Department Store in Ft. Myers, FL and in Springfield, IL. Mary was also a substitute high school business teacher in the Maine School District of Cook County and Griggsville School District.
Mary was a member of the Advisory Board of the Peoria Journal Star Newspaper and a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed auctions and antiques, flowers, gardening and loved playing her piano. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Brenda Spurlock Partridge of Quincy; two sons, Michael (Rose) Spurlock of Sherman, IL and Jim (Cathy) Spurlock of Keller, TX; four grandchildren, Brandon Clements of Quincy; Mitchell Spurlock of Sherman; Nichole Spurlock of Springfield; and Steve (Laura) Spurlock of Texas. Four great grandchildren, Kayla, Destiny, Abbey and Collin survive in addition to one great-great grandchild, Mariana; a brother, Roger Herren of Wentzville, MO; a sister, Alene Grabill of Galesburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
Per Mary's wishes, there will be no services. Memorials are suggested to be made to the Pike County Animal Shelter.
