John Alexander Harp, civil war veteran, was a powder monkey. He was shot in the jaw and the bullet came out through his teeth. He and his wife, Sarah lived on his $60 war pension.

Census and death certificate indicate he was born in 1843, so he military tombstone is probably incorrect.
