VARCOE, Julia (Pawliw) April 20, 1928 - June 21, 2012
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of our mother Julia Varcoe on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the age of 84 years. Julia was born to Rose and George Pawliw on April 20, 1928 in Glaslyn, Saskatchewan.
Today the strongest limb has fallen from our family tree.
Julia crossed over to be with the Lord peacefully in her home with her daughter Sherry holding her hand. Julia fought a hard and courageous battle with cancer for the last three years beating all odds, and surprising us all every day. Julia is survived by her three children: son Charles (Cindy) and their children Jolene and Justin; daughter Sherry (Skip) and their two boys Tyler and Cory and her youngest son, and her favorite Scott (Barb) and their children Chad, Charmaine, Christopher, Cassidy, and Cody and eight great-grandchildren. Julia is also survived by two of her brothers George and Myron; and two sisters Elsie and one other. Julia was predeceased by her loving husband Harry in 1969; her parents Rose and George; her brothers Eddie, Fred, Carl and by her sisters Carrie, Olga, Kay and Helen. Julia has left very special memories with all her grandchildren especially her two youngest Tyler and Cory for being the best Baba anyone could have asked for. Julia will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her dearly; the memories created will be cherished and lovingly shared by generations to come. The family would like to say a special thank you to Julia's Home Care nurse Doreen McKinnon. You were a blessing in our mom's life, thank you for three years of dedication, help, listening and caring for our mom. Doreen, you always went over and above and our family appreciates everything you did right up till her last day with us. A special private service will happen at a later date when Julia will finally be reunited with her favorite banjo player, her husband Harry. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Julia Varcoe, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park,
