Dorothy Owen Winegard Straus, 85, of Cedar Falls died Thursday Jan. 25, 2007, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born August 6, 1921 in Black Hawk County daughter of Harry K. and Mary Matilda Herman Owen.

She married Leo Winegard on March 29, 1941 in Burlington. He preceded her in death. She married Donald Straus on Nov. 13, 1984 in Dubuque. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a nurses aid in the Waterloo area for several years.

Survivors include a son, Ron (Donna) Winegard of Denver; two daughters, Sharon (James) Sutton of Shell Rock and Debra VanRiper of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and a brother Larry Owen of Elk Run Heights.

Preceded in death by a son Gregory and two brothers Gordon and Richard.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Garden Of Memories Cemetery both in Waterloo. Public visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today and for an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Valley Hospice.
