The Grabill family lived in Chicago, IL on Diversy when Anton was a small child, then returned to Galesburg. He graduated from Galesburg Senior High School in 1951. He served as a payroll clerk during the Korea Conflict while stationed in Germany.
Anton married Alice Herren in 1955, they had four daughters.
He worked as a factory foreman for Butler Manufacturing Company, and as a truck driver for the Rocky Mountain News Agency and the Galesburg News Agency.
Most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was inducted into the Galesburg Sr High School Athletics Hall of Fame posthumously November 2005. He was Most Valuable Athlete in Baseball, Basketball, and Football as well as athlete of the year in 1951.
