George was born and raised in Worcester with his parents. His father died when George was 9 years old.
He enlisted in the Marines 1 September 1967, at a Boston Recruiting Office.
Arriving in Vietnam 6 February 1968 George was assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 1st
Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. During Operation Ford, Charlie Company and Echo Company were in the vicinity of Trung Phuong and 5 kilometers northeast of the Phu Bai Airfield, when they engaged hostile forces and George died as a result of hostile gunshot wounds to the body. The Marines lost 11 men.
Survived by his mother, Rita C Adams of 14 Meadow Lane, Worcester, MA and his brother, Sgt William Adams serving with Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, at Guantanamo, Cuba.
His father, Wilfred J Adams was deceased.
