October 20, 1952 ‒ April 12, 2017

DELAWARE — Terry Bright, age 64 of Delaware, Ohio, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend went to meet his Savior Wednesday, April 12, 2017 following a brief battle with cancer.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1952 in Delaware, Ohio, to the late Charles and Ora (Danner) Bright. After graduating from Delaware Hayes High School in 1970, he went to work for the Kroger Company. In a career which spanned 37 years, he worked as Head Grocery Clerk for the S. Sandusky St. Kroger #272 and Receiving Clerk for Delaware Rt. 23 Kroger #857.

While at Kroger he met his bride to be and on June 19, 1975 married Linda (Grady). Together they shared nearly 42 years side by side, raising two daughters hand in hand through life's journey.

A man of God he lived Christ's teachings, following the two greatest commandments: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart…", and "love your neighbor as yourself." Terry possessed a helping hand attitude, never saying "no" to someone in need. Because of his selflessness, he became a friend to all who knew him. A regular church attendee, he was a devoted member of Northgate Church.

An outdoorsman at heart, he loved to hunt and fish. His antler room is evidence of his passion for hunting. He also enjoyed antiquing and collecting vintage milk bottles. In his younger years he was an award winning trap shooter. A scratch golfer, he was a member of several area golf leagues. With his skills as a switch hitter, he was a desired player on multiple softball teams. Terry was also a fan of watching football and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Blue Limestone Park and Marble Head Lighthouse were a few of his favorite places.

Generous with all that he had, he possessed an amazing servant's heart and a willingness to lend a helping hand. He made sure that those around him knew they were loved, and he was delighted by the little things in life.

His favorite hobby was his grandchildren, the delight of his life. Terry was at his best when his family was happy, which he made his mission in life.

In addition to his beloved wife Linda, he is survived by his daughters: Kelly Bright of Delaware, Jenny (Matt) Carroll of Mishawaka, IN, Grandchildren: Camille, Cassidy, Lucas, Norah Joy, Brother-in-law: Zane Grady, numerous Cousins, including Carl Bennett, and many dear friends.

Burial will follow in Blue Church Cemetery near Sunbury.
