Pfc. Milton F. Shepard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shepard, 52 Saratoga street, Cohoes, was killed in action at Saipan, July 12, the War department advised. A graduate of Cohoes High School, he had been overseas two years. Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Raymond Shepard.

Military honors will be accorded Saturday morning at the funeral of Pfc. Milton F. Shepard, 20, of the Army, who was killed in action July 12, 1944, while serving with Company B, 105th Infantry. His father, Charles Shepard of 192 Remsen Street, is the only immediate survivor. The soldier’s body is scheduled to arrive in Cohoes tomorrow from the Army Distribution Depot in Schenectady.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the Marra Funeral Home, Remsen and Ontario Streets, and at 9 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church where a requiem mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Private Shepard was born in Cohoes and always resided there. He attended Cohoes High School and was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. He enlisted in Company B shortly before that outfit left for service in October, 1940.
