Mrs. Amos was one of my grandpa's best friends and one of his very favorite people. Whenever she came to my grandparents' house to visit, my grandpa's face would just LIGHT UP. I remember her fondly because she meant so much to my grandpa. MLG

EDEN - Goldie Lee Bryant Amos, 91, of 813 Pitcher Ave. died Friday evening, Oct. 9, 1998, at Morehead Memorial Hospital, Eden.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Church of the Brethren, with burial in Overlook Cemetery.

Born in Page Co., West Virginia, was a member of First Church of the Brethren, Sunday school teacher and retired from Fieldcrest Mills.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Edward Rickman of Norfolk, Va.; brother, Jack Bryant of Eden; sister, Flora Bryant Berry of Eden; grandson and wife, Edward & Diane Rickman, Jr. of Apex; great-granddaughter, Denise Rickman of Apex; several nieces and nephews.
