Obituary: Montie Kitchens, age 83, of Denton, TX, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2005, at Denton Good Samaritan Village Health Care. She was born Jun 22, 1921 in Ila, Madison Co., GA, to George Hall and Sallie Mae Cauthen Westbrook. She married Dr. William Claude Kitchens, Sr. in Ila on Dec. 26, 1941. He preceded her in death. She graduated in 1941 from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in home economics. She was in the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She was a homemaker and attended St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Denton, TX, First Presbyterian Church and Central Presbyterian Church in Athens, GA. She was active in the Medical Auxilliary, the Garden Club, and Circle 5. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge, and cooking.
She is survived by four sons, one brother, two sisters, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church of Athens. Dr. Glenn Doak will officiate the service.
