New Postmaster Named For Polk Post Office. Walter Bruce Hastings named the new postmaster of Polk Post Office, at 33 years old. Prior to accepting this government position, he was employed for five years as a railway clerk and crew dispatcher with the Pennsylvania Railroad in Oil City. He also had worked with his father in the saw mill business until he entered the Army and resumed work with father after discharged. From June 1954 to April 1955 he worked at the Polk State School as a driver and attendant. During this time he attended the Welch Business School in Oil City, completing his course in accounting and business administration on May 7, 1956.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Merril B. Hastings, born August 25, 1928.
He was married to the former Emmie Louise Pellow.
