Obituary of daughter Alma:
Nancy (Alma) Sutherland May 11, 1921-Jan. 15, 2014 Born in Minnesota to Frederico and Libera Roitero, Nancy moved west as a young woman, independent and unafraid. In San Francisco, Nancy met the love of her life, her late husband of 63 years, Robert E Sutherland. They married shortly after they met and, after their initial years in The City, the young couple moved north, where they began a family and had three children -- Bob, John and Nancy. From Tiburon, they moved to San Anselmo and opened their house to family, relatives and friends on a regular basis. As their children grew, Nancy joined husband Bob in the family automobile business, commuting to San Francisco and then later to Rohnert Park, where the business is still run by son Bob. Nancy was intensely proud of her Italian heritage, travelling to Italy on several occasions to visit her mother and father's home town of Meduno in Northern Italy. She maintained contact with her relatives there and as recently as last year entertained her great niece who had travelled to the U.S. Even in her weakened state, Nancy could communicate effectively in Italian.
