Arthur Ambrose Ogburn, 57, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away, Wednesday, April 3, 2013 after a lengthy illness. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30-4pm Saturday, April 6 at Rose Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA. Brother H.L. Kendrick will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Arthritis Foundation or Coastal Conservation Association.
Ambrose is survived by his mother Wilma Ogburn; children, Valerie Ogburn Kahler and her husband Casey of West Monroe, Jon Ambrose Ogburn aka "Boudreaux" of Shreveport; three grandchildren, Riley and Dylan Ogburn and Emily Kahler; siblings Steve Ogburn, Farrelyn Hemperley, June Morgan and husband Barry; many beloved nieces and nephews; and the love of his life, Lorraine Byers. He was preceded in death by his father, Farrel; brothers Glenn, Randy, and Donnie Ogburn, and brother-in-law Butch Hemperley.
Ambrose was born November 27, 1955 in Shreveport. He graduated from Fair Park High School in 1973 and was employed as an electrician. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the "South Louisiana Way of Life" and lived it to the fullest. In heaven, the angels are hearing a new voice calling out "Heyeeeee, laissez les bon temps rouler!"
