Ormah Marie Fredrickson Acton

Ormah Marie Acton, age 88, formerly of rural Liberty, Nebraska, passed away on September 27, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society of Beatrice, Nebraska. She was born on April 29, 1928 in Beatrice to Oscar and Honora (Dennehy) Fredrickson.

Ormah was a 1946 graduate of Barneston High School and attended nursing school at Bryan Memorial in Lincoln, Nebraska. When on leave from nursing school, Ormah met the love of her life, Ted E. Acton. The two were married on April 14, 1947.

Ormah was a farm wife. There was not a vehicle or trailer that she couldn’t drive, back up, or get stuck in the mud. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, collecting teapots and thimbles, and her days on the farm.

She and Ted also enjoyed over 20 years of wintering in Texas. She was a caregiver to many family members and was always prepared to entertain in her home.

Ormah was a member of the Mission Creek Missionary Ladies; Red Hats; BG Gals in Mission, TX; and a former Gage County Extension Club member. She was also a former member of the Barneston Presbyterian Church.

Ormah is survived by: her children, Ted Wayne Acton (Kandis Roche) and MaryEllen (William) Boyer; grandchildren, Craig (Jamie) Boyer, Letisha Lynn Acton, Megan Kathleen Acton, Sarah (Russ) McHenry, and Grant (Amy) Boyer; great grandchildren, Kennedy Rose Boyer, Cameron Lou McHenry, Emerson Jane Boyer, Easton William Boyer, Harper Lynn Boyer, Brooks William McHenry, and one great grandchild due in November; nieces Donna Rae Graham and Norma Jean (Sam) White; and nephew-in-law Willard Trauernicht.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ted; parents; brothers, Lyle and Darrel Fredrickson; niece, Patricia Ann (Fredrickson) Trauernicht, and great granddaughter, Katelynn Marie Boyer.

Funeral services on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Mission Creek United Presbyterian Church in Liberty. Burial at the Liberty Cemetery.
