John R. Bishop was born on August 27, 1955, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Carl Richard and Delma Joann (Lovejoy) Bishop. He married Connie J. McGuire on June 18, 1988, in Williams Center, Ohio, and she survives.
Survivors also include one son, Richard B. (Stephanie) Bishop, of Montpelier; five grandchildren, Nick and Alex Bishop, Katie Wesley, and Elizabeth and Tiffany Aten; one great-grandchild, Bella Wesley; one brother, Dennis (Monica) Bishop, of Montpelier; and one sister, Linda (Joe) Sly, of Fayette, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held in the First Assembly of God Church, 1105 Alpine Drive, Bryan, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, August 19, 2016. Services will be held at the First Assembly of God Church on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Kevin Boulis officiating. Visitation will also be held in the church for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 P.M. Interment will take place in Williams Center Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489 and the United States Navy Honor Guard.
