Dorothy "Dodo" Elaine Godmare of Duluth, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Golden Oaks Assisted Living in Proctor.

Dodo was born on November 6, 1925 in the West End of Duluth to Nels Oscar and Violet Beatrice (Carlson) Wennberg.

She graduated from Proctor High School in 1943. She honorably served her country from 1943 to 1945 as a Weather Observer and Aircraft Spotter in Fargo, North Dakota, receiving her training from the Department of Defense and the National Weather Service. She worked as the first Flight Attendant for Duluth Airlines from 1946 through 1947.

Dodo was married to William "Bill" Godmare in 1948 and spent 64 years together. She received her license to practice nursing from St. Luke's Hospital Nursing School in 1961. She caringly served the community as a Licensed Practical Nurse until 1989. She lovingly touched the lives of many people in the Duluth community for her entire life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth; and one great grandchild, Jayda.

Dodo is survived by her husband, Bill; three sons: Craig, Steven (Betsy), and Bruce; five grandchildren, Bryan, Janel, Jonathan, Brooke and Brandon; and eight great grandchildren.
