Allen A. Schuman, age 66, of Gilberts passed away on Wednesday morning, in the comfort of his home surrounded by family after battling cancer. Allen was born in Watervliet, Michigan on October 6, 1949 and was the son of the late Emil and Louise (nee’ Frank) Schuman. On February 13, 1971 he married his best friend and love of his life Karen L. Brennan. Allen was a resident of Gilberts for the past 28 years. He was a former 44 year loyal employee of United Airlines where he served in Lead Ramp Services. Allen also served in the Air Force National Guard. He was a Lionel Train and Corvette Enthusiast. Most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them as well as his friends.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years: Karen. Their sons: Brian (Christy) and Scott Schuman and his granddaughter: Sydney. Other survivors include his mother-in-law: Phyllis Brennan and his sister-in-law: Darlene Brennan and Janis (William) Hickok as well as countless good and faithful friends.
