Shane lost his father and brother Dwight at a young age, but Sally and Aunt Lucille stepped up and became his coaches and then biggest fans through his days in sports at Marty Mission High School.
Shane worked construction with Lee Gourneau’s company where he helped build several houses in Lower Brule and Fort Thompson, SD.
Understanding how blessed he was to live in God's country, Shane took full advantage of the wide open spaces surrounding him. Whether it be ice fishing on the Missouri or watching storms from the buttes, Shane enjoyed the quiet solitude the land had to offer.
Shane was a big a teddy bear with an even bigger heart inside.
While Shane was the last of his immediate family to pass away,
He leaves behind his niece and great nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers, and special cousin Leo Durkin.
