Eva was born on April 6, 1945 to Henry G and Alene (Farris) Sanderson in Watonga, Oklahoma. They moved to Coffeyville when she was a small child, where she also attended school.
Eva worked as a nurse's aide for Medicalodges of Coffeyville until her retirement.
Eva married Everett L. Smith of that union four children were born.
In January of 1987 she began her partnership with the love of her life, Lloyd Thompson. The couple made their home in Coffeyville. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2011.
Eva attended the Coffeyville Church of Christ.
She cherished spending time with her family and friends, she also enjoyed her weekly trip to the casino with her son.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Joyce and husband Raymond Vaughn of Coffeyville, Kansas, Anna and husband Curtis Mora of Bixby, Oklahoma; sons, Everett Leroy Smith Jr. and wife Dana, of Wann, Oklahoma, Randy Smith and wife Valorie of Coffeyville, Kansas; grandchildren, Justin Ray Vaughn, Sherry Hawkins, Ricky Hawkins, Elton Fowler, Bridget Forrester, Justin Carriker, Amanda Ellis, Cynethia R. Smith-Storm, Devin Lee Smith, Derek Anthony Smith, Jonah Paul Smith ; twenty-one great grandchildren, brother Gordon Sanderson and wife Lillie Mae.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in by her grandson, Raymond L. "Ray" Vaughn, and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2015 from noon to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 pm.
