1961 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School
Marion Ross Cornelius, 71, Wye Lane, Three Springs, died at 7:57 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016, at his home in Cromwell Township.
Born Oct. 9, 1944, at the family farm at Newburg, Todd Township, he was a son of the late Edgar and Belle (Hess) Cornelius. He was united in marriage to the former Ruth Covert March 3, 1973. Mrs. Cornelius survives at home.
Mr. Cornelius is survived by seven children, also survived by a sister.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter “Sonny” Cornelius Sr.
Mr. Cornelius was baptized at the Church of the Nazarene, Newburg.
He was an avid hunter and was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Mr. Cornelius was a member of Teamsters Local No. 776, Harrisburg.
Mr. Cornelius was a 1961 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School, Saxton, which was the school’s first graduating class.
A longtime truck driver, he retired in 2010 from FedEx Ground, Harrisburg.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, with the Rev. Ed Seeley officiating. Interment will be made in the Three Springs Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Cornelius may be made to Home Nursing Agency Hospice, 9429 William Penn Highway, Suite 1, Huntingdon, PA 16652 or to No One Fights Alone, c/o Candi Whitsel, 19204 Echo Hill Lane, Three Springs, PA 17264.
