Ben graduated from Miami Central High School in 1957 and joined the U.S. Navy on October 30, 1957. Pat graduated in 1958 from Piqua Central High School. Ben returned from the Navy in December of 1960. He and Pat were married on May 5, 1961. Ben worked for French Oil and then went to BF Goodrich where he retired in 2002 as the head electrician. Pat worked as a secretary at Piqua Central High School and then became a stay at home mother.
Together, Ben and Pat raised two sons
