Etta K. Ayer of Cottage Place, Old Saybrook, died Saturday at Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown. She was 87.
She was born in Hartford and worked first as a telephone operator and then as a homemaker. She was a member of First Congregational Church in Old Saybrook.
She is survived by two sons, John R. Ayer of Westbrook and David A. Ayer of Old Saybrook; two grandsons; and by her dear friend Liz Picard and daughter-in-law Susan Ayer.
Her husband, Donald S. Ayer, is deceased.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Old Saybrook at noon Thursday. Donations may be made to the Shoreline VNA, 210 Main St., Old Saybook, CT 06475. The Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
