Death Claims Pioneer of Ely
ELY, Jan. 29 -- Edwin F. Thayer, pioneer resident of Ely, died Tuesday morning at a local hospital. He was born in Shelby, Mich., December 1, 1875 and came to Nevada in 1907 where he settled in White Pine county and became interested in mining. Two sons survive, Edwin M Thayer of Ely, and Henry [Emery] A Thayer of Reno. He also leaves a brother living in Reno. Funeral services were held today with burial in the Ely cemetery.

Matilda Thiessen Succumbs in Ely
Ely, Feb. 17,--A well known resident of Ely for 20 years, Mrs Matilda Thiessen, died Thursday following a short illness.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at Wilson-Bates chapel in Ely. Surviving are her husband, Albert Thiessen of Ely; a daughter, Mrs Dora Baker of Reno, and two sons, A L and Oscar Anderson of Salt Lake City.
The Thiessens came to Ely from Richfield, Utah.

Funeral services for Mrs Dora M Baker were held Saturday at 3 pm at the home chapel of the Ross-Burke Co., with John Oldham of the Jehovah Witnesses officiating. Burial was in Mountain View cemetery.
A native of Utah, Mrs Baker died in Reno April 16. She was the mother of Robert B., Donald E., and George E Baker, all of Reno; and Mrs James McCord of Winnemucca. Fifteen grandchildren also survive.
