HAVEN - Helen L Rawlings, 91, died Nov 23, 1997, at Hutchinson Hospital.

She was born April 13, 1906 at Haven, the daughter of John Wesley and Eva Caffrey Astle. A longtime resident of Mount Hope and Haven, living in Denver for 20 years, she was a homemaker and an accountant.

On Oct 3, 1942, she married Roy M Rawlings at Salina. He died April 15, 1988.

Survivors include: a daughter, Mildred Hlakek, WaKeeney; a stepson, Darrel Rawlings, Redding, California; two brothers, Robert "Mick" Astle, Haven, and Guy Astle, Yukon, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter Gwen Mueller; two brothers; WP and Thomas Astle; and a sister, Grace Gist.

Funeral will be at 2 pm Wednesday at Van Campen Funeral Home Chapel, Haven, with the Rev Suze Anderson presiding. Friends may call from 3 to 9 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Laurel Cemetery, rural Haven.

Memorials may be sent to the Transportation System for Seniors of Haven in care of the funeral home.
